​In 1989, Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlana Muhammad Abdullah Saleem and his late wife founded the institute in their home with the goal of providing American Muslim youths and children with an education grounded in the holy traditions of Islam. The institute grew to become the premier Islamic institution in the country, producing a number of ulama and huffaz. With a glorious past, IIE is one of the most respected Islamic institutes in America.
